LOGLINE:

An eccentric thirty something black female unknowing sex addict embarks on a journey of self-discovery.

SYNOPSIS

Aprili Michaels, 33 finds herself in the midst of a mid-life stressor; she is not happy with her dating life; some-what single; and has the worst luck when it comes to guys popping the question. After experiencing a major setback with her addiction, she embarks on a self-help journey in finding out why she cannot seem to get life right.

The show tone is whimsical and obscure comedy. Insecure meets She’s Gotta Have It; Aprili Michaels is sexually confidant yet insecure with her sex addiction. The show takes real life situations that have happened in everyday life that deal with love, addiction and religion. The show takes a comedic approach to the outlandish dates and proposals but bring firm attention when dealing with the addiction aspects of alcohol, drugs and sex that people battle with daily. The characters engage in eccentric outcomes by looking directly at the audience to get feedback.

The world is based in modern day with a thirty-three year old woman trying to figure out why her dating life is so bizarre. The obscure comedic side is how she and friends deal with the life they are given to them.

FORMAT:

These would be 30-minute episodes that are serialized with a common theme of musical albums and songs that have a deeper meaning in the title of the episode. The show would use a; this what you missed from last week like Shameless to open up the episodes and it leaves right off from the previous one.

The series Arc will focus on Aprili and how she copes with being diagnosed with a sex addiction; how she focuses on everything else but dealing with her problem; and finds herself being proposed to ten times which is a girl’s dream but it’s always with the wrong guy or is it?
